Getting you through the budget process
Costs management requires expert knowledge in identifying potential costs, setting these out in compliance with the CPR and justifying their proportionality.
We can provide the following the services:
- Prepare your budget (Precedent H): we will work in collaboration with you to produce an accurate and realistic budget, with a full but succinct justification of the costs sought in each section (phase) of the budget;
- Prepare objections to costs budgets;
- Attend the Costs and Case Management Hearing (CCMC) with you to assist the court in assessing whether costs are allowable and proportionate;
- Update your budget: compliance with costs management orders is rigorously applied by the courts and any budget that exceeds the amount approved must be revised and agreed or approved by the court.
Providing you with the right tools for your budget
With every budget we provide a detailed breakdown of work done and work anticipated within the budget, so that you can check the composition of the budget and be prepared with relevant information for challenges by the other side and questions from the court.
All our budgets are delivered in both PDF and Excel format. This means that costs can be revised, automatically recalculated, and agreed at the CCMC for the figure to be included within the order at court. This also gives the court the option of attaching the summary page of the budget to the Costs Management Order with a term referring to it.
